This is the first Konkani film produced by Konkani speaking people of Karnataka and has actors from Mangalore as well as from Goa. Well, known journalist, late Felicio Cardoso is the assistant director of this film.
The story revolves around smuggling and tries to propagate national integration by incorporating characters from both Christian and Hindu communities.
Smuggling is a crime which eats into the income of the government as greedy people want to evade their duty and taxes just for the selfish interests of becoming rich. It portrays that one day one has to pay for the crime committed and there is no way of escaping from that. And the matter becomes still serious when one of the family members are involved in such a crime.
Dr. Suresh Ramani enacts the role of a Catholic excise inspector whereas Betty Naz is in the garb of a Hindu lady. The film is known for its suspense which is unfolded by the birthmark. Rico Rod and Patricia D’Souza provide hilarious moments and Muthu Krishan Das is in the role of a smuggler. In the end, Simon marries Lilly, and the son hands over his father who is the kingpin of smugglers to the police. The film boasts of scenic splendor of Karnataka especially the Vrindavan Gardens, Shimoga, and the Jog Falls. The songs have been recorded on the discs of the Odeon Company. The lyrics of the film have been penned by the famous Konkani litterateur Dr. Manohar Sardesai.
